Sergeant York (1941)-Gary Cooper as Alvin York

On TCM 9/15/16: Screen great Gary Cooper as pacifist hillbilly Alvin York in the Howard Hawks directed Sergeant York (1941) becomes a war hero with a little divine intervention where the wind blows the pages in his readings to a passage that justify his decision to fight in WW I. Catch Coop also as an action hero of high principals in For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943) and High Noon (1952) always concerned with doing the right thing.
